Coconut Cake Recipe


  • 6 Eggs
  • 360 gms. Sugar
  • 420 gms. Wheat Flour
  • 250 ml. Orange Juice, Freshly pressed
  • 18 gms. Baking Powder
  • 100 gms. Shredded Coconut

For the Syrup:

  • 1 Litre Milk
  • 500 gms. Coconut Milk
  • 500 gms. Condensed Milk


  1. Preheat oven at 170 degrees centigrade.
  2. Beat the whole eggs with an electric beater at maximum speed. When they are double in size, add the sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix yeast and flour. Set aside.
  4. Remove the dough from the mixer. Using a spatula, incorporate the flour and yeast mixture, alternating with the orange juice.
  5. Stir until the flour has dissolved.
  6. Grease a 20 cm X 30 cm rectangular pan with unsalted butter, sprinkle with flour and carefully pour in the dough.
  7. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  8. In a clean bowl mix all syrup ingredients well until the condensed milk is dissolved.
  9. As soon as you remove the cake from the oven, poke holes in the dough using a fork.
  10. Pour the syrup over the top.
  11. Cover with the shredded coconut and refrigerate to cool.
